- Starting Date: –
- Status: Completed

Description
The Baitul Abbas Mawkib concept is designed to aid pilgrims on their demanding journey to visit the holy shrine of Imam Hussain (as) during the Arbaeen trek. Built on the road from Najaf to Karbala – at Pole 842 – this Mawkib offers pilgrims food and drink, as well as a place to rest.
The architecture includes four pillars on the exterior’s entrance, as well as arabesque patterns running across the top of the walls and below the windows. The building is designed to protect those inside from Iraq’s glaring sun, whilst the choice of white paint is designed to aid interior temperature control.
