  • Location: Najaf, Iraq
  • Starting Date: 2012
  • Status: Completed

Description

Located in Najaf, Iraq, this multi-functional project incorporates Islam geometric designs and Arabic architecture to create 888 units for the employees of the Imam Ali Shrine through the low-cost housing method. The Qanbar Housing project also includes a school, mosque, clinic centre, two malls, a gym, and two kindergartens.

The housing units incorporate traditional Arabic architecture through Arabic house design. These units offer a comfortable place for the Imam Ali Shrine employees to live, creating a connected community. The development of a power grid, sewage network, and water system allows this project to remain healthily inhabitable throughout the long term, strengthening the community’s standard of living.

Education is also provided within two kindergartens and a school, providing the children of the Imam Ali Shrine employees with a place of learning. Through intricate masjid design, a mosque is included in the project. This provides the employees with a suitable place of worship.
